Credit 7.2 Heat Island Effect-Roof 1
Possible Point
According to U.S. Green
Building Council® LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations, the intent of this credit is “To
reduce heat islands to minimize impacts on microclimates
and human and wildlife habitats.” (LEED 2009 for New
Construction and Major Renovations, Page 17).
In order to achieve this credit, the roofing panel color
must have a Solar Reflectance Index as calculated in accordance with ASTM E 1980. (SRI) equal to or greater than:
